They must support the needs and desires of those in marginalized communities, especially the Global South, by partnering "with" them and not building "for" them. </div> <p><em>Note: this content is ported from offline notes I kept after working on this project.</em></p> <p>In 2022 I volunteered with <a href="https://alltechishuman.org/">All Tech is Human</a> to help them shape the Better Tech Future report. The central question they wanted to answer is: how do we create a better future with technology? They recognized there&rsquo;s no single answer to that question. So they brought together people from around the world and a myriad of disciplines. I appreciated their intention and so I invested several weeks reviewing materials along with many other volunteers to review submissions from hundreds of people.</p>
